LETTER
I DISCOVERED AN UNKNOWN WORLD
Hello Valdo, I’m called Gianpaolo, I’m 33 years old and for 15 years I’ve suffered from ulcerous rectocolitis. During the 15 years, periods of remission have alternated with more or less serious relapses, always treated with different pharmaceuticals and cortisones. Last month, thanks to reading Allen Carr’s book, I stopped smoking, and immediately as if for a prize, I found myself hit by the strongest relapse of my life. While waiting to visit a specialist, I was searching the web and came upon your blog, in which I discovered a world that was new and unknown to me.
I DID A MINI FAST FOR 24 HOURS, AND ALREADY I THINK I FEEL BETTER
The first thing I found was your recent article, Ulcerous recto-colitis and the Birchian Revolution, of 15/06/2011 which deals with my illness, and as a consequence, I did a mini-fast for 24 hours, due to which I’m now feeding myself only fresh and dried fruit and raw vegetables. Obviously I’m doing things a bit haphazardly while I’m waiting for your book. However I have to say, in the meanwhile, it seems that the haemorrhages are already diminishing a lot.
CONTRADICTORY AND ERRATIC NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION
In my research on the internet I learnt of the existence of many nutritional disciplines which lead me to uncertainties. I thought that nutrition was treated in the same way as medicine, using scientific methodology and that I wouldn’t have to cope with so many interpretations. Quite the contrary, I discover that one day drinking milk is beneficial, and the next day that it’s a poison, and the same thing applies to cereals, fish and other things as well.
WOULDN’T IT BE BETTER JUST TO BE VAGUE AND LESS EXTREMIST?
From all this I deduce that nothing has been proved yet, and that all the disciplines are still a long way from the truth. At this point wouldn’t it be more correct to be less absolutist in your own convictions? Let me explain better: the final objective is people’s health, and not the dialectic victory of one discipline with respect to another.
NO THEORY IS DEMONSTRABLE, SEEING THAT THE OPPOSITION ALWAYS DENIES THEIR CLAIMS
Seeing that at the moment no theory is demonstrable, I’d say that to a normal person like me, who doesn’t have a degree in medicine, it is much more useful to have real reports of other patients’ personal experiences, rather than series of scientific arguments, which are always denied by the opposition.
I’M NOT INTERESTED IN LABELS, I ONLY WANT GOOD HEALTH
In brief, what must I eat to be well? And if every now and then I eat a boiled a potato or a little boiled barley, what will happen? What’s important to me is to live well and be healthy; I’m not interested in cataloguing myself as a vegan raw food faddist, or a fruitarian, and I think that many people think like me. From what I read in forums, it seems people often tend to omit talking about the negative effects of new diets by labeling them as the effects of detoxification, and this confounds me even more. Hopefully all the answers will be in your book. In which case I beg your pardon. Thank you, with cordial salutations and compliments for what you’re doing. Giampaolo T.

FIRST I HAVE TO CLARIFY SOME CRINKLES IN YOU
Hello Giampaolo, I cannot help noting that you spent not 15 months, but 15 years trying to cure your problem with pharmaceuticals, without managing to do so, and yet you speak about medicine as if it’s a scientific theory, instead sanitary charlatanism! Also I can’t help noting that notwithstanding all your considerations and your polemical tone, you start by launching yourself full tilt into a semi-fast for 24 hours!
YOU REALLY HAVE TO READ MORE ARTICLES TO ACQUAINT YOURSELF WITH THE HYGIENE CULTURE
I must add that if you read my works more thoroughly, you will find the coherence and the linearity that you have not found till now, and that you will not find easily elsewhere. I will not repeat here the nutritive and therapeutic proposals that you have already found in the article that you have mentioned, but I invite you to also read the two articles from today entitled Recovery from immune system mutilations, and The hard taste of the mixing bowl, which both deal with cases of ulcerous recto-colitis .
THE LIMITS OF PUBLIC PLATFORMS AND FORUMS
I have nothing against debates or forums, but it’s taken for granted that they have the limits typical of all public platforms or bars, where every new customer arrives with his own ideas in complete contrast to the preceding ones. All said, round tables are for everything and against everything. Honestly I prefer dealing with recognizable schools of thought based on a minimum of ideological coherence, and a minimum of history and interpretative rules.
A GREAT SCHOOL THAT STARTED FROM PRIMORDIAL HUMAN CIVILIZATION
In any case hygienism isn’t one of the 50 or so therapeutic or nutritional theories in circulation, and even less is it a series of diets competing with various other diets such as the Mediterranean, the point, (?) the zone, the blood group, or various other loads of balls around. Hygienism is a great school that started with the dawn of civilization and involved people like Pythagoras, Hippocrates, Asclepiad, Galeno, the Salernitan Medical School, Leonardo Da Vinci, and all the great names of German, Swiss and American hygienism, including Kuhne, Ehret, Bircher-Benner and Shelton. You will find all this in my new book The History of Natural Hygiene, available from October.
HYGIENE THEORIES RESIST THE CORROSION OF TIME
You say that theories are discredited. I’m not aware that hygienism often suffers from such disgrace. Our father, Pythagoras, preached about low protein diets and today 2,600 years later, we recognize that he was right. Our uncle Hippocrates claimed that Nature, and not doctors, or pharmaceuticals, is the sovereign curer of all ills, and today, 2,400 years later, we still accept that he was right. Our brother Leonardo admonished people to learn not to cure themselves, but to look after their own health, and today 500 years later, we fully confirm his intuitions.
THE CLAMOROUS AND TRAGIC BLUNDERS OF JUNK RIDDEN WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS
Our American hygienist friends informed the world that 11-25 grams of protein per day was the ideal amount to satisfy all our protein needs, and today, 150 years later, incredibly we are still saying they are right. This in defiance of the FDA’s (American Food and Drug Administration) barbarous, crazy medical food pyramids, adopted by all local and regional governmental sanitary centres, clinics and hospitals, who blathered on about more than 300 grams of protein a day in the 1970’s, 250 grams in the 80’s, 200 in the 90’s, 150 in 2000, 75 grams in 2005, which went on reducing towards the 35 grams of nowadays, having discovered that more than 30g/day and the body becomes acidified. This in defiance of other terrible and tragic howlers regarding the over-valuation of Vit B12, and the 6-7 times under-valuation for Vitamin C, in the estimates of the cheese-ophile, meat-ophile FDA.
HUMAN FRUCTARIANISM IS NOT AN EXTERNAL LABEL, BUT A STRUCTURAL AND BIOCHEMICAL SITUATION
Hygienism has discovered that human blood is alkaline, and therefore fruitarian; nobody can contest it. Hygienism noted that human jaws are not fixed but mobile, so we are granivores and no one can deny it. Hygienism discovered that the human stomach is hypochloric, and thus fruitarian, no one can contest it. Hygienism has taught that the human intestine is long, complicated and spongy (not short, straight and smooth) and thus fruitarian, and no one can contest it.
OTHER UNEQUIVOCAL SIGNS OF OUR VEGAN CONDITION
Hygienism has discovered that uricase, the enzyme which demolishes uric acid, is lacking in human organic liquids, which is an unequivocal sign of fruitarianism. Hygienism has shown that the human immune system unleashes a large number of leucocytes at every meal containing meat, the nth sign that we are fruitarians. Hygienism accepts Liebig’s law of the minimum, which shows that substances aggregate in minimal synergy (i.e biochemical reactions are always limited by the least available substance) and therefore all vitamin and mineral supplements are dangerous and harmful. Despite superficial appearances, hygienism has understood the enormous differences between natural fruit sugar and industrial sugar, between natural vitamins and synthetic vitamins, between organic minerals and inorganic minerals, between raw food and cooked food, between tumours and cancer, between right and wrong.
WE PLAY WITH CLEAR AND TRANSPARENT CARDS
Dear Gianpaolo, just take this data to any one of the schools that are different from ours, and ask them to contest it, not with arguments from the public toilets or the Sports Bar, but with scientific data and initiatives. I think I have said, all I needed to say.
